N-Wave Joint Engineering & Technical Interchange (JETI) Events


About JETI Events

JETI events are designed to provide opportunities to exchange technical updates across NOAA Line and Staff Offices, Department of Commerce (DOC) Bureaus and N-Wave's network partners, provide a forum for informal discussions between all participants and dive deepter into technical topics. JETI events are hosted by N-Wave.

There are currently three types of JETI events offered by N-Wave:

1. Annual JETI event

2. Periodic JETI Path workshops

3. Monthly JETI Technical Crosstalk meetings (held second Wednesday of every month from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. ET). For more information and to receive the calendar invitation with virtual connection details, send an email to nwave-jeti@noaa.gov


2023 N-Wave JETI Annual Meeting 


About the Event

The 2023 N-Wave Joint Engineering and Technical Interchange (JETI) fully virtual Annual Meeting is scheduled for July 11-12, 2023. JETI events are designed to provide opportunities to exchange technical updates, provide a forum for informal discussions between all participants and dive deeper into technical topics.

This year’s event will be centered around IPv6-related topics and include training opportunities for federal agency networking partners who are working to meet the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Memorandum M-21-07 “Completing the Transition to Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6)” and upcoming fiscal year milestones. Join us to hear more about the following topics:

- IPv6 training on DNS64/NAT64, General Routing Protocols (OSPF v3, BGP), Cloud and IPv6 Best Practices and SLAAC and DHCPv6 Configuration

- Zero Trust Deployment Use Cases

- Cyber Security & IPv6 (Panel Discussion)

- SLAAC vs. DHCPv6

- N-Wave Enterprise Services & IPv6 Support

Each day is scheduled to run from 1:00 - 5:30 p.m. EDT/7:00  - 11:30 a.m.  HST.

Who Should Attend

The N-Wave Joint Engineering & Technical Interchange (JETI) is an annual series of technical workshops for directly invited network engineers and technical staff who operate and design NOAA, Department of Commerce (DOC) and other federal agency networks. This includes affiliates working directly on, or in support of, N-Wave projects. In addition, partner representatives from the nonprofit science, research and education networking community working on, or in support, of N-Wave projects may also attend. Based on equal access to information, the media, commercial providers and other private sector business personnel are not invited to attend.

Attendee Registration

There is no cost to attend this two-day fully virtual event, but registration is required to receive all event materials and information. Registration is now open - see below for a link to complete the registration form.


Meeting Location

This JETI annual meeting will be a fully virtual event. Information and virtual connection instructions will be provided to registered attendees prior to the event.

N-Wave Stakeholders & Science Engagement Summit


About the Event

This annual event is a gathering of N-Wave stakeholders from across NOAA Line Office and Department of Commerce (DOC) Bureaus, other federal agencies, along with partners from the science, research and education network community. The primary goals for this event are to:

- Share about Bureau, Line Office, Federal agency and program initiatives that may present new challenges and opportunities in leveraging shared network resources.'

- Discuss current and future data- and network-related needs to aid in network capacity planning.

- Explore new network technologies, federal government initiatives and N-Wave's latest capabilities and services. 

Program topics will include Bureau/Line Office program updates, technology modernization, cloud connectivity, infrastructure upgrades, scientific community partner projects, network initiatives and more.

The event is hosted by N-Wave.
